#6 OPTIMISATION OF LABOUR
Location: CZECHIA, Květná
Leader: Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU)
End-user farms: 1 farm, ZD Květná
Site Description: This farm is located in the village of Květná. It has 500 ha and it is specialised in cattle grazing: buying young calves, fattening them, and selling them as heifers. They own 228 calves and 420 heifers. The farm also grows grassland forage for self-consumption and different arable crops such as wheat, rape, and potatoes.
BEEF CATTLE
DIARY CATTLE
DRY LAND CROPS
GRASSLAND
Motivation: Labour optimization is needed. This may help them increase their productivity and compete with larger food producers.
Technology to test: GRASSGUARD (tech.#3), drones that apply the latest technical innovations in the field of autonomous machines, electromobility, and agricultural technologies.
Expected Outcome: A better labour optimization by automation of pasture care using both land and flying drones. A resource-sharing strategy is planned to implement automation broadly: since each farm will need to use drones three times per year, they could be shared tools among several local farms.
